OVERNIGHT CELEBRITY
Chapter 3
Kia
It was around six o’clock when I’d gotten home from a photo shoot and found Joyce wrapped in a light green silk robe frantically searching through her closet with a distressed expression on her face. I stood back and watched her for a minute before clearing my throat to catch her attention and asking her what was going on. She plopped down on the cushioned bench located in the center of her closet before answering me.
“Carmine invited me to dinner at his house tonight. I’ll be meeting with his mother. It’ll be my second time being around her and I’m nervous,” she answered.
“Why are you nervous? Does she not like you?” I asked.
“It’s not that she doesn’t like me. It’s just that Mrs. Gotti always wanted her boys to marry nice Italian girls and, as you know, I’m not Italian.”
“No you’re not, but Carmine obviously doesn’t care about that. You’re a beautiful woman and I’m not just saying that because we’re twins. Any man would be lucky to have you and I’m sure Carmine is aware of that. While I’m sure you’d like to have Ms. Gotti’s unwavering support, the truth of the matter is that you’re not dating her and so you shouldn’t let what shewants for her boys affect your relationship or how you feel about yourself,” I urged.
“Thanks Kia,” Joyce muttered as she embraced me. “I needed that, but I still don’t have anything to wear.”
“You’re just having dinner with your boyfriend’s mother. It’s not rocket science,” I spoke as I fingered through her clothes.
“I know that,” Joyce replied as she relaxed her back and laid down on the cushion. She knew I’d find something for her to wear. “It’s just that I want to look nice.”
Finding something for Joyce to wear was relatively easy since she was the sort that was super organized and believed that everything had it’s place. Her closet was organized by item and then strategically placed based on color. In less than five minutes I’d pulled a sleeveless peach colored silk Zac Posen blouse and a dark blue denim pencil skirt that would hit her just below the knees.
“There you go,” I offered as I placed the outfit on her stomach.
“What about shoes?” she questioned as she pulled herself up to get a good look at the outfit.
I glanced back at the outfit before telling her to hold on as I went to my room. I had a pair of suede Fendi sandals from two seasons ago that I’d only worn a handful of times that would set the outfit off just right.
“And there you go,” I commented as I placed the shoebox at Joy’s feet.
“These things are high,” she stated the obvious as she pulled a sandal out of the box.
“They’re wedges. You’ll be fine,” I waved her off as I adjusted myself in the strapless yellow top I wore and grabbed my purse from beside the ottoman she’d plopped down on. “So I’m off in search of a Panera Bread.”
“There’s only two within our range. One is in Long Island and the other is the Bronx,” Joyce informed me with a look of disbelief in her face.
“Okay…and?” I asked her as I pulled my tiny white Juke phone out of the front pocket of my jeans and double checked the time. “I am going to get my apple chicken salad.”
“That must be a damn good salad because that’s a bit too far for me to go for some lettuce and fruit when we have perfectly good eateries within walking distance,” Joyce replied as she shrugged off her robe and began to pull on the fitted denim skirt.
“There is no distance too far for a little bit of Panera heaven,” I informed her before leaving in destination of my favorite salad.
I was on the train back home, jamming to some Maxwell and eating my salad, when a woman sat down on the empty seat next to me and tapped me on my shoulder. I looked up and pulled the tiny bud of my earphones out of my left ear to see what the woman wanted only to freeze when I saw Adriana’s familiar face.
“Oh my God!” I squealed lowly before placing my salad on the empty seat in front of me and gave her a quick hug. “What are you doing here?”
“On the train or in New York?” she asked playfully with an arched brow.
“Well I know what you’re doing on the train,” I told her as I grabbed my salad and continued to eat.
“I had a photo shoot to do for a men’s mag,” she replied offhandedly. “What are your plans for this evening?”
“Nothing serious. I was just going to sit at home and watch some movies,” I answered.
“You should hang out with me tonight. Some friends and I planned on going to Kisses tonight. Are you interested?” she asked.
“Sure,” I replied with a shrug. That was much better than anything else I’d planned on doing. “Where do you want me to meet you?”
“The Hudson Hotel around eleven,” she answered just as the train came to a screeching halt. She glanced at the station and then stood. “This is me. I’ll see you later tonight.”
Joyce
It was a quarter to ten when I got back home from dinner at Carmine’s. The dinner had gone a bit better than expected and I headed to Kia’s room to let her know of the happenings. Finding Kia lounging with her laptop or watching TV wasn’t what I found when I entered her bedroom. Kia was dressed in a very fitted black dress that hit her right at the mid of her thigh. While the cups of the slip-like dress covered the girls and kept them perky, it didn’t leave too much else to the imagination.
“Don’t you want to put on something with a little more substance?” I asked her as she stepped into a plaid pair of Mary Jane pumps that were so high they’d have given me a nosebleed.
“What’s wrong with what I have on?” she asked as if she was dressed in a caftan.
“Oh, I don’t know,” I started sarcastically, “maybe the fact that you have more showing than there is covered!”
Kia laughed and waved me off before continuing to buckle the straps of her pumps. “I’m not showing that much skin. Besides, I’m going to a club. This sort of get-up won’t exactly make me stand out in a crowd.”
“I don’t understand how you can be comfortable in something like that,” I commented as she pinned a pair of onyx and diamond gothic styled drop earrings in her ear.
“I take photographs in my underwear for a living, Joy. This is a three-piece suit compared to that,” she clarified as she pushed a matching cuff up her right wrist. She made quick work of securing the necklace that completed the set before standing up and doing a twirl. “Besides the fact that you think this is revealing, how do I look?”
“You look good,” I answered honestly.
“Thanks sis.” With that said, she sprayed on her signature scent and grabbed a large tote in the same plaid as her shoes and made her way out of the apartment.
John
I was in Kisses dancing with…what did the girl say her name was? Well, I was dancing with this bad chick; she had a pretty face, a small waist, and big ass tits that the low cut of her gold mini dress put on full display. The high heels of her pumps accentuated her shapely legs that I could clearly envision wrapped around me. Her back was to my chest and she was grinding her ass on my groin, letting me know she was mine for the night, when my little brother Frankie tapped me on the shoulder and nodded his head towards the entrance where six females had just walked in. All were bad in their own right, but the one that caught my attention was the woman in the front who just happened to be Kia and she was laughing at something a woman in a silk pink babydoll had said.
Before the group of women walked five feet from the entrance a guy came up and whispered something into Kia’s ear. She turned to him and smirked before grabbing his hand and leading him onto the dance floor. A club mix of a Lady Gaga song blared through the speakers as the pair began to grind on each other. In that moment, I couldn’t take my eyes off of her body as she rode the beat. Before our eyes could connect the girl I was dancing with grabbed my face and turned it towards her.
“What are you looking at?” she asked me with an arched brow.
“A friend,” I replied shortly. It wasn’t a complete lie and even if it was, I didn’t owe this girl anything.
“Hmm,” she mumbled before grabbing my hand and leading me towards the back room.
Frank
I parted from the girl I’d been dancing with for the last couple of songs and looked around to find another female who was hot enough to dance with. Just when I was going to settle on this green eyed blonde who’d been checking for me all night when I noticed one of the women who’d walk in sitting at a table by herself.
“You want to dance?” I asked her once I was at her table.
She looked me up and down before placing her drink on the table and standing up. In her heels she was damn near my height and, can I just say, that she looked ten times better up close. Just as we hit the dance floor the song had changed from an upbeat pop song to a fast paced reggae song. The girl gave a mischievous expression as she started winding her body and popping her hips to the beat. I placed my hands on her waist before grinding back into her.
She and I were having a good time when a familiar voice asked if they could step in. I turned around to see John standing there, his button-up shirt unbuttoned revealing a while wife beater. I shook my heat internally at that as I turned my attention back to the girl I’d been dancing with.
“It’s really up to the lady, John.”
She frowned before asking, “you two know each other?”
“Unfortunately,” I joked. “He’s my brother.”
“Damn, how many of you are there?” she asked.
John laughed and I looked in between then with a confused expression on my face. John noticed it and explained, “This is Kia, Joy’s twin.”
“Word?” I asked as I stared at her and immediately seeing the resemblance. “I thought you looked familiar. You two dance, I’m going to head over there and politic.”
Kia
“Was she good?” I asked John after about a minute of dancing. The musky smell of sex was faint, but surrounded him.
“What?” he asked in a shocked tone.
“The girl you fucked a little while ago. Was she good?” I elucidated.
“What are you talking about?” he asked. Ah, he’s stalling.
“I can smell her on you John,” I told him.
“Stop playing,” he called as he lifted his collar and took a whiff.
“I’m not playing,” I assured him. “The scent isn’t offending, but I can smell it.”
“Damn. You have good senses.”
“I know,” I spoke simply. “It comes in handy in situations like this one.”
We danced for a few songs before I headed back to my table and said bye to my girls and headed home.
